🚚 Shipping, Delivery & Unloading Information

(For Dundalk LeisureCraft Saunas)

All Dundalk LeisureCraft saunas are handcrafted in Canada and shipped in secure wooden crates directly to your home. Below is a simple breakdown of how shipping and delivery works so you know exactly what to expect.

🏭 How Your Sauna Ships

Your sauna is:

  • Built to order

  • Fully crated for safe transport

  • Shipped by freight truck to your home

Dundalk handles all building, packing, and arranging the shipment. 

📞 Delivery Appointment

Once your sauna reaches your local freight terminal, the trucking company will:

  • Call you to schedule a delivery appointment

  • Deliver your sauna to your curbside or end of driveway

They do not:

  • Unload the crate

  • Move it into your driveway or backyard

  • Drive into small or restricted-driveway areas

Most deliveries are made using an 18-wheel truck, so please ensure that size can access your road. 

📦 Crate Sizes & Weight

Sauna crates vary in size:

  • Length: 6 ft to 14 ft

  • Weight: 800 lbs to 1,600 lbs

This is important for choosing the correct unloading method. 

⚠️ Who Is Responsible for Unloading?

The customer is responsible for unloading the crate from the truck.
This is a standard freight shipping requirement. 

👉 If your crate is 92” or shorter

A liftgate may be available to help lower the crate to the ground. 

👉 If your crate is longer than 92”

A liftgate will NOT be available.
You must plan one of these unloading methods:

  • Use a forklift (with extensions)

  • Rent a tilt-tow truck

  • Pick up the crate from the terminal using a flatbed or trailer

These methods are recommended directly by Dundalk. 

🛠 If the Crate Arrives Damaged

You may still accept the delivery — but be sure to:

  1. Take clear photos of the damage

  2. Note the damage on the Bill of Lading (BOL)

    • Write:
      “Crate arrived open/damaged – possible hidden damage.”

  3. Contact us immediately so we can open a claim with Dundalk.

This is very important for warranty and insurance coverage. 

🔄 Changing Your Shipping Address

  • Before the order leaves the factory: free

  • After it leaves the factory: $250 fee

This fee comes directly from Dundalk. 

📦 Storage Fees

If the freight company cannot reach you or delivery is delayed because:

  • They cannot make contact

  • You need more time to plan unloading

  • You need to update contact information

  • You delay your delivery appointment

The trucking company may charge storage fees.
These fees are passed through at cost from Dundalk.
